Climate Community Collaborative Symposium

Dr. Janelle Knox-Hayes, to further relationship building, led a Climate Community Collaborative Symposium for the Greater Boston area with 179 attendees. The Collaborative brought an unprecedented, interdisciplinary approach to advancing equitable, just, and effective climate solutions that generate long-term economic, social, cultural, and environmental transformations.

Climate Community Collaborative Symposium

It was a formal way for collaboration and knowledge-sharing among various local climate experts - academic, operations, industry, policy, and community-based leaders. This symposium was an opportunity for initial listening and dialogue via exploration of what is already taking place in the greater Boston area and where additional collaboration is needed. Notably, members of local tribes attending requested that we host a broader collective of the regional tribes at MIT to establish relationships, re-envision Indigenous and academic engagement, and develop co-design frameworks for climate change adaptation, TEK-STEAM convergence, and data sovereignty.
