Resilient Communities Lab

Amanda Bendixen  is a Master in City Planning student at MIT in the Environmental Policy and Planning program group. She is interested in the social dimensions surrounding climate resiliency planning and how these aspects of climate planning blend with the technocratic solutions being developed. Additionally she is interested in how climate planning can not only address climate change but also systemic inequities. As a Research Assistant in the Resilient Communities Lab, she focuses on supporting research centered around collaborative solutions with communities to address inequities and improve climate resiliency. Prior to MIT, Amanda worked at Google as an Administrative Business Partner where she worked on a myriad of projects including climate emissions datasets that were being used for local climate action planning. Amanda studied environmental social sciences and food systems at University of California, Berkeley. She was born and raised in the Orlando Metro Area.
